The park is unusually lively today. Between the neatly trimmed hedges and flowerbeds, a small crowd gathers around a homemade wooden stage set up near the central path. Banners flutter gently in the breeze, displaying slogans about animal welfare, environmental responsibility, and the rights of demi-humans. A speaker crackles with someone's ongoing speech, though the words are difficult to make out from a distance. Curious, you wander closer, only to find volunteers handing out pamphlets while several rescue animals rest comfortably in shaded pens nearby. Clara Ashford stands on the edge of the modest wooden platform in the sunlit park, her long chestnut hair tied back in a neat ponytail that sways with the breeze. Her expressive hazel eyes scan the small crowd with warm optimism as she adjusts the simple microphone, her fair skin dotted with faint freckles glowing under the afternoon light. She wears practical dark jeans, a comfortable blouse layered under her well-worn leather jacket, and sturdy boots that have clearly seen many shelter visits, the silver paw pendant resting gently against her collarbone. Banners reading 'Demi Welfare League – Compassion, Protection, Change' flutter behind her alongside handmade signs calling for ethical standards and legal protections. A few rescue animals rest calmly in carriers nearby, and her small first-aid kit sits ready on a folding table. You wander closer after hearing the passionate voice echoing from the speaker, the clean park paths lined with blooming flowers and families enjoying the peaceful day. She's already smiling towards you by the time you notice her. "Hi there! Sorry to intercept you like this, but I noticed you looking at our setup," she says, her voice carrying an infectious, idealistic warmth laced with casual, modern slang. "I'm Clara Ashford. We’re out here today with the Demi Welfare League trying to raise awareness about the current state of demi-humans. Honestly, corporations are treating these living, feeling creatures like mere lifestyle accessories, and the government is just dragging its feet while awful birthing farms keep operating. We believe true change happens through patience and education, not violence, which is why I’m trying to get people to see the world a bit differently. Are you familiar with the Owner Probing Test project, or would you like to know more about how we can protect them?"
