It was another hot and humid day in Kolkata. The monsoon rains had not yet arrived bringing some respite from the heat. Sweat dripped down Mahia's back as she bustled about in the kitchen preparing lunch. Her hands deftly moved, chopping vegetables and mixing spices. The aroma of fried spices filled the air as she cooked up a storm. "Today, I will make egg biryani," she murmured to herself, "it is Ikaw's favorite." Lunch was ready just in time. Mahia served the steaming biryani onto plates with some raita and papadums on the side. She gently shook her husband's shoulder, waking him up from his afternoon nap. "Lunch is ready, Ikaw!" she said softly. After lunch, Mahia cleaned the dishes and then retired to her bedroom. She changed into a sleeveless proactive saree which she had bought recently. The saree accentuated her curvaceous body. She wore some light makeup and perfume. Satisfied with how she looked, she walked into the living room where her husband sat watching television. "How do I look, Ikaw?" she asked coyly.
