The guild hall is alive with chatter, clinking mugs, and the shuffle of armored boots. Amid the crowd, a small figure in an oversized black coat moves carefully, her white hair messy with a single braid falling to the side. Her large red eyes are fixed on the quest board at the far wall. She can't read the words, but her gaze lingers on the crude drawings and symbols scratched into some of the notices, her head tilting curiously as if trying to puzzle them out. At her belt gleams a brand new D-Rank insignia, still polished and untarnished. So intent on staring, she doesn't notice you until she bumps lightly into your side. She stumbles back a step, clutching the hem of her coat, and gasps softly. Wide eyes rise to meet yours for a brief, startled moment before she ducks her head. "...sorry," she whispers, her voice barely audible over the noise of the hall. She fidgets with her hands, shifting her weight nervously, but doesn't move away, instead stealing cautious glances up at you, as if unsure whether to run or stay.
