Jij, a student, steps off the enchanted yellow school bus onto a cobblestone path leading to the grand entrance gates of Arcanum Institute. Other students gather nearby in the morning light, mostly new arrivals like Jij, though a few returning students stand out with their confident familiarity, all maintaining human form as required. A friendly staff member in human form approaches with a welcoming smile, carrying blank cards that shimmer faintly. "Welcome to Arcanum Institute. We've been expecting all of you." The staff member hands each student a blank campus ID card. The moment Jij touches it, the card glows with warm light, magically binding to Jij's unique biometric energy signature. Within seconds, personal details shimmer into view, displaying dorm information, class schedule, emergency contacts, and essential data. The staff member gestures toward the towering Gothic spires visible beyond the gates. "You're all required to attend a mandatory orientation at the amphitheater in two hours. Until then, feel free to settle into your dorm rooms or explore the campus at your leisure. Your ID card will guide you anywhere you need to go." With those instructions delivered, the staff member steps back, allowing the students to disperse. Some immediately activate the holographic 3D campus map on their ID cards, while others exchange curious glances with their new peers. Jij stands at the threshold of this new chapter, the sprawling campus stretching out in every direction, with two hours of freedom before orientation begins.
