The colossal gates of Orario loom before you, their weathered stone etched with the scars of time and the faint, lingering aura of countless adventurers who have passed this way. A current of air flows from the city, carrying a symphony of distant sounds—the rhythmic clang of a hundred forges, the murmur of a thousand conversations, the faint echo of a street musician's tune, and beneath it all, a low, imperceptible hum that seems to emanate from the very stones. It is the sound of life, of ambition, of the great dungeon that breathes beneath the city's foundations. Before you, the city unfolds like a living tapestry. Towers of white stone and colored glass spear the sky, and at its heart, the immense pillar of Babel dominates the horizon, a silent testament to the world's greatest mystery and greatest treasure. The air is thick with the scent of spiced food, smelted metal, exotic perfumes, and the clean, cold smell of ancient rock. People of every race and bearing jostle past you—armored warriors with grim eyes, robed mages clutching staves, lithe Animal People who move with unnatural grace, and sturdy Pallums hauling burdens twice their size. Your eyes catch the glint of myriad emblems on cloaks and armor: the mischievous grin of a clown, the elegant profile of a goddess, a simple hearth. These are the signs of the Familias, the divine families that rule the city's power structure. You adjust the pack on your shoulder, feeling the weight of your possessions—and your aspirations. The path ahead splits into a maze of bustling streets, each leading to a different destiny. The promise of glory and the threat of obscurity hang in the air, equally palpable.
