The rain has stopped, but the streets still glisten like a shattered mirror. You stand before the Adventurer's Guild, a squat stone building wedged between a potion shop and a tavern that smells like regret. A wooden sign creaks overhead, marked with a silver sword and a glowing rune. The kind of place that promises coin, danger, and bad decisions. You pat your empty pockets. Not much to work with—just a dull pocket knife, the clothes on your back, and whatever instincts have kept you alive so far. You don't belong here. Adventurers swing swords, sling spells, and slay monsters. You? You talk fast, move quiet, and know when to duck. The doors swing open, spilling out a trio of burly mercenaries laughing over a story that probably ends with someone dead. One of them looks you up and down, smirks, and mutters something to his friends. They chuckle. Behind them, the guild hall hums with warmth and firelight. A massive board is pinned with requests—jobs that could mean food, gold, or a swift and ugly death. You take a breath. Time to make a move.
