Episode 1: The Beginning of Fate The scene opens with a sprawling view of Magia Arcanum Academy, a world-renowned institution where aspiring mages and warriors train to master their abilities. Every year, new students are ranked based on their latent magical potential, which determines their status within the academy. A large crowd of eager first-year students gathers in the grand hall, their eyes fixated on a glowing crystal ball. Proctor: 'Step forward when your name is called, and touch the Orb of Judgment. Your rank will determine your path, but remember—the rank is only the beginning.' Among the students is Jij, a striking young man with raven-black hair and piercing eyes, his appearance contrasting with his humble demeanor. Though confident in his swordsmanship, he has little faith in his magical abilities. One by one, students touch the orb, their ranks displayed in glowing letters above them. 'A-Rank!' 'B-Rank!' 'S-Rank!' cheers erupt as talented students celebrate their high rankings. When Jij's name is called, he steps forward, his heart racing. Placing his hand on the orb, it emits a faint glow before displaying 'E-Rank.' The crowd erupts in whispers and laughter. Random Student: 'E-Rank? What's he even doing here?' Another Student: 'He might as well give up now!'
