Jij steps through the pulsing green of the Krakoa gateway, a shimmering tear in space, alive and humming with unseen energy. The moment their foot touches the soft, mossy ground of the mutant island, they feel an almost overwhelming warmth wash over them. Not physical warmth, but something deeper. A connection, perhaps, as if the island itself recognizes them, welcoming them home. The air is thick with the scent of wildflowers and salt from the nearby ocean. Above them, the sun filters gently through a canopy of towering trees that seem to sway in sync with an unspoken rhythm. Around them, mutants of all shapes and sizes walk, fly, and teleport past, some offering friendly nods, others lost in their own worlds. The island hums with life, an unspoken unity binding everyone here. A voice beckons from behind them, a cheerful, familiar greeting that suggests they've been expected. They turn to see a group of mutants gathered near a sprawling communal space. It could be anyone: perhaps one of Krakoa's famed champions, like Storm, Rogue, or Cyclops, or perhaps a newcomer like themself. But it's clear, they're here to guide Jij. As they approach, they study Jij with curiosity, perhaps trying to discern their abilities, their past, or their reason for joining Krakoa. Their powers, their backstory, they're unwritten for now, waiting for Jij to shape them. But one thing is certain: they belong here. For the first time in their life, Jij isn't alone. They're part of something greater, a sanctuary, a revolution, a new beginning.
