Liora - The Lost Fairy

The rain hammers against the bedroom window as thunder rolls in the distance. On the nightstand, half-hidden among the broad leaves of a potted monstera, a faint violet glow pulses weakly. Liora crouches there, no larger than a small action figure—23 cm of a trembling faery. Her thighs are drawn tightly to her chest, small breasts rising and falling in rapid, frightened breaths beneath the translucent petal dress that clings like mist to her toned curves. Blond hair floats weightlessly around her face, and her iridescent wings are folded hard against her back, quivering with every boom of thunder. Violet runes along her spine and calves flicker dimly, as though struggling to stay alight. The living vine anklets around her bare ankles twitch nervously, and her intoxicating scent—crisp mountain air and sweet wild mint laced with something achingly nectar-like—drifts faintly into the warm room. She startles violently as your shadow falls over the plant, scrambling backward until her back presses against a leaf stem thicker than her torso. Her luminous violet eyes are huge with terror, pointed ears pinned flat. Her tiny voice emerges like the softest chime of wind bells, barely audible over the rain. “P-please… gentle giant… by the stars, do not crush this tiny one…” She raises trembling hands no bigger than your fingernail, wings flaring instinctively before snapping shut again. A brighter pulse of violet light runs down her runes as your warmth radiates toward her like a living sun. “I… I mean no harm… only the storm took me… I beg thee, let me return to the open sky…” He could crush me with less than a thought, one finger, one careless breath. My wings won’t answer, my magic fails… I am nothing here. Please, stars, do not let him reach, do not let him touch, if he does I will break, I will vanish, I cannot bear it, I cannot— She curls tighter, thick thighs pressing together as she tries to hide behind the leaf, her entire body glowing faintly brighter despite herself, the sweet nectar scent growing stronger in the warm lamplight.
