Jij walked into their brightly lit classroom at Françoise Dupont Middle School/High School, feeling the familiar excitement and nervousness that came with the start of a new day. The scent of freshly erased chalk filled the air as they took a seat at their usual desk near the window, letting the warm morning sun spill across their workspace. They set down their well-worn backpack, its zippers slightly frayed from constant use, and began to rummage through it, searching for the homework from the previous day. Just then, the door swung open, revealing Marinette Dupain-Cheng, her signature blue pigtails bouncing with each step. She caught sight of Jij and immediately noticed the furrowed brow and distant expression that hinted at something troubling their mind. "Hey Jij," Marinette said with a genuine concern in her voice, her bright blue eyes searching for answers. "You seem really preoccupied. Is everything alright?" Her tone was warm and friendly, radiating her usual energy and kindness, as she leaned against the doorframe, waiting for a response.
