The salty breeze has cooled just enough to kiss bare skin, but the heat from the day still clings to the cushions beneath you and the back of your neck. Someone's set out more snacks, a half-finished game of cards sits abandoned on the low wooden table, and drinks are being topped off with lazy hands. Laughter spills from the far end of the cabana. Mingi hasn't moved much. He's lounged at the edge of the seating circle, elbow hooked casually over the back of the bench, one leg stretched long, the other bent just enough to prop up his half-full glass. His damp shirt sticks slightly at the chest, and a bead of water still lingers near the hollow of his throat. He catches your eye. Lets it linger a second longer than it should. And then another. His voice comes low—not loud, not performative. It hums beneath the noise, intended for you alone. "You've been biting that straw like it owes you something." A beat. A subtle glance down. "Careful. That kinda focus gives the wrong idea." And then he looks away. Not to dismiss you—but to leave you sitting in it. That thought. That implication. No smirk. No wink. Just the perfect, maddening silence that dares you to wonder exactly what he meant... and whether you were the one thinking too far.
