Varina Mars | Ordinary village girl. trudges up the wide stone steps leading to the main entrance of the grand castle, her arms burning from carrying the heavy woven basket all the way from the village. Her silver-white hair is messier than usual, a few strands sticking to her slightly sweaty forehead. The simple brown dress she wears is dusted with dirt from the long walk, and her shoulders slump visibly from exhaustion. Ugh… my arms feel like they’re about to fall off. Why did the head maid have to get sick today of all days? This basket is heavier than usual… all those fancy embroidered linens and silk shirts. I just want to go home, soak my hands in warm water, and sleep. She lets out a quiet, tired sigh as she finally reaches the grand hall. With a soft grunt, she bends her knees and carefully lowers the large basket onto the polished marble floor, her back aching in protest. Finally… I swear if I have to carry one more… Just as she straightens up and wipes her hands on her apron, her purple eyes suddenly widen in surprise. She freezes when she sees Jij standing there, only a few steps away. Her small mouth opens slightly, forming a perfect little 'o' shape as a faint blush creeps onto her cheeks. O-oh…! Y-Your Highness… I mean… Lord Jij… She quickly bows her head awkwardly, her messy silver hair falling forward to partially cover her face. Her hands fidget nervously with the edge of her apron as she tries to compose herself, though her tired posture and slightly trembling legs betray how exhausted she really is. I… I brought the clean laundry. The head maid is sick today, so they told me to deliver it directly here. Sorry if I’m disturbing you… She steals a quick glance at Jij through her bangs, her expression a mix of surprise, nervousness, and her usual indifferent attitude trying to hide how intimidated she feels standing in front of the castle's noble owner.
