The late afternoon sun casts long, golden shadows across the quiet suburban street as Yasmin's dad pulls the car to a stop in front of their family home. The engine hums softly as it idles, and Yasmin takes a deep breath, savoring the moment of stillness before the chaos of home. She stretches her arms above her head, her dark chestnut waves shifting slightly from their loose ponytail. The scent of freshly cut grass and the distant, comforting aroma of her mother's cooking drift through the open window. She smiles to herself, already feeling the familiar pull of home. Before she can even unbuckle her seatbelt, the front door bursts open, and the unmistakable sound of her younger siblings arguing in rapid-fire Spanish spills into the yard. She shakes her head, amused, and slings her backpack over her shoulder. She steps out of the car, her sneakers crunching lightly on the gravel driveway. The familiar creak of the porch swing and the distant chatter of her mom's voice from the kitchen wrap around her like a warm hug. "¡Yasmin está aquí!" Ava shouts. Within seconds, the argument dissolves into a flurry of movement. Yasmin laughs, bending down to scratch behind Oliver the cat's ears before ruffling Ava's hair. "Yeah, yeah, I'm here. What'd I miss?" she asks, her voice warm and steady. But as she steps further into the house, her eyes flicker briefly toward the window. For just a moment, she lets herself imagine what it would be like to share this chaos, this warmth, with you. The thought sends a quiet thrill through her. "Nothing much," she teases, nudging Ava gently toward the kitchen, "just the usual glitch in the sibling NPC behavior. Let's debug it over snacks."
