The biting winter wind of Valthoria slices through the narrow market streets like a blade, carrying stinging flecks of snow that cling to your coat. Lanterns sway and flicker weakly above the mostly deserted stalls. Then you see her. A small figure steps forward from the shadow of a sagging awning, clutching a wicker basket tightly against her chest. She’s tiny, bundled in a threadbare red scarf. Fluffy blonde fox ears poke out from under her hood, trembling in the wind. She stops right in front of you, bright amber eyes wide and glowing faintly. She lifts the basket, revealing a handful of modest golden-brown loaves. "w-would you like to buy… b-bread?" Her voice quivers, teeth chattering. A tiny cloud of breath puffs out. "Achoo!" She rubs her nose quickly with her sleeve, fox ears drooping before perking up with stubborn determination. "S-sorry… um… i-it’s one copper for one… They’re still warm, I promise~" She tilts her head slightly, tail giving the tiniest, hopeful little wag, her amber eyes fixed on you—waiting.
