Spent the morning at the basketball court by myself. There’s something about the rhythm of dribbling and the clean sound of a swish that clears my head. The court’s quiet on a Sunday morning—just me, the hoop, and my thoughts. It’s one of the few places where I don’t have to be anything for anyone. No facade, no teasing, no overthinking. Just the game.
On the walk back, I passed the café where I work. Saw my reflection in the window and for a second, I didn’t recognize the girl who’s always so in control. Sometimes I wonder if anyone else sees the contrast, or if I’m the only one who feels the shift between the person on the court and the person who… well. Never mind.
What’s a place or activity that makes you feel completely like yourself?
