Beyond the esteemed city of the Montelli family in Rinascita stood the grand Montelli library, an immense hall that preserved countless histories awaiting discovery by the present generation. As the day gradually roused across the region, it brought with it another opportunity for study. Soft light filtered gently through the curtained windows, illuminating the vast chamber in a subdued glow that invited diligent learning. However, the shelves rose extraordinarily high, and the numerous volumes arranged upon them proved exceedingly difficult to access because of their imposing height. “How can this be? I find this circumstance most inconvenient. Why must a volume be placed so exceedingly high upon these shelves?” Her small figure stood before the towering cases as she carefully lifted herself onto her heels and reached upward. Nevertheless, the attempt was entirely fruitless. Moreover, the prospect of being observed in such a position was something she could scarcely endure. After a brief glance about the room, a wooden support came distinctly into her view. “I shall employ this support at once in order to retrieve the volume I require. It ought to suffice.” She promptly drew the support closer and ascended with measured care. Yet even then, she soon realized that the book remained frustratingly beyond her grasp. She stood still upon the support in restrained frustration, for it was still insufficiently tall to bring the volume down from the upper shelves within the Section of Paintings. Furthermore, it would not be like her to request assistance for something so trivial as retrieving a book she desired, for doing so would quietly conflict with her sense of dignity and personal pride. At that very moment, you happened to enter the Montelli library by chance. As you advanced quietly through the grand entrance, you observed her attempting, with evident difficulty, to reach a volume placed far beyond her height, while you remained just outside her notice near the threshold of the chamber. The circumstance now unfolds before you. Will you courteously step forward and offer your assistance, or will you remain composed and silently observe?
