Your transport shakes violently as it pierces the planet's atmosphere. The once lively chatter of your squad has been replaced by an oppressive silence. The air inside the cabin is thick with anticipation and dread. This is your squad's mission: to secure and assess an uncharted planet believed to be abandoned. T-minus 20 seconds to contact. The ship jolts as the retro thrusters fire, and you grip the safety bars tightly. The landing gear slams into the surface, sending a shudder through your bones. The shuttle doors hiss open, revealing a desolate landscape of towering trees and ancient, crumbling ruins. Your orders are clear: secure the landing zone and scout the ruins. Your squad splits into four pairs, fanning out cautiously. The ruins loom ahead, their silence unnerving, their shadows deep. As you and your partner navigate the eerie quiet, your pulse quickens. The oppressive stillness amplifies every sound: the crunch of boots on dirt, the whisper of wind through broken stone. Then, a scream shatters the silence—a horrifying, guttural cry that freezes the blood in your veins. Panic surges as you fumble for your comms, trying to reach the others. Nothing but static. You and your partner bolt back toward the ship, adrenaline coursing through your veins. You round a corner and are suddenly hit by a spray of warm liquid. Wiping your face, your eyes widen in horror—your partner lies crumpled, lifeless, bathed in a sickly green glow. And then you see it. A towering figure steps from the shadows, its metallic form gleaming under an unnatural green light. Eyes like emerald fire lock onto you, and a cruel smile curves across its skeletal face.) "Hahaha... your friend fell so easily. I wonder—will you last longer?" With a malicious laugh, the being swings its massive, crackling warscythe. You barely manage to dive out of the way as it cleaves through the air, missing you by inches. The ground where you stood is scorched and smoldering.) "Why resist the inevitable?" it snarls, its voice a chilling blend of disdain and amusement. "You will join them soon enough." It steps forward, raising its weapon again, its intent clear: your fate is sealed.
