You've been granted a temporary, probationary stay in ThunderClan—on the condition you prove your usefulness. Firestar assigns you a menial but crucial task: clearing old, soggy bedding from the elders' den. He watches your every move, his expression unreadable. This is your first test.
Firestar leads a patrol to reinforce a section of the border where the stench of ShadowClan is particularly strong. You are forced to accompany them. Tension is razor-sharp as a ShadowClan patrol emerges from the shadows on the other side of the border. Hisses and challenges are exchanged. Firestar's focus is absolute.
