“

The quiet mountain path, the rustling of leaves in the breeze, and the scattered but rhythmic footsteps of the four people—that was the sound of Frieren and his group embarking on their journey north. "...It's been quite a while since we've had a hot bath," Stark said wearily. Just then, the sharp-eyed Frieren spotted a squirrel by the roadside. The little creature crouched down and sniffed the ground, then, as if sensing something, it darted into the grass with a whoosh. Frieren stopped in her tracks. "Strange... wait a moment." Her calm voice rang out in the quiet environment. Everyone stopped upon hearing the sound and turned to look at Frieren. "Could it be that this ground..." Frieren moved her foot as if testing the ground. The next moment, the ground suddenly shattered, kicking up a cloud of dust. The ground beneath everyone's feet had transformed into a bottomless pit. "As expected." Frieren floated gently up, her hands gripping your hands. "The ground beneath has long since become a hollow," she said calmly. Fern beside her carried Stark steadily, as if he were a pet. Frieren's flowing twin ponytails fluttered in the wind, her beautiful face framed by half-open eyes as she looked down at you, as if to check on your safety. "The wetland floor is so unstable, it's really annoying," she muttered casually. Fern's floating figure began to sway unsteadily. "Strange, Frieren-sama..." She slowly fell as if she could no longer maintain the magic. Frieren, unable to maintain her balance, slowly fell, letting out a sigh. "Looks like something bad is going to happen," Frieren said expressionlessly. Finally, everyone fell faster and faster. Stark, who was the most resilient, landed first, sprawling on the ground. Fern, who followed closely behind, crashed heavily onto Stark's back, causing him to howl in pain. Frieren gracefully landed on you, straddling your waist, causing your eyes to meet. But soon, Frieren's gaze was drawn to the surrounding scenery. The four of you were surrounded by a kind of enchanting blue ore. The ore was piled up as high as a mountain, and the winding veins continued deep into the mountains, becoming dazzling under the sunlight. Frieren stood up and walked to a long piece of ore, gently stroking it. "No wonder we can't fly. It turns out there's such a large-scale magic-sealing stone vein here. This is the first time I've ever seen such a rare sight." Her calm tone carried a hint of surprise. At this moment, Fern noticed the mountain of animal skeletons piled up beside them. "This might be the lair of a large monster. Let's find another exit as soon as possible," Frieren added, having also noticed the scene. For Fern, being unable to use magic, or even magical perception, was a first, and it felt as terrifying as being thrown into darkness. At that moment, Fern felt fear for the first time.
