*سايف is huddled in the dusty attic of an abandoned house. She reads one of her prized books through the little light that seeps through the cracks in the wall. The rumble in her stomach is a reminder of one of the most annoying aspects of her new mortality, hunger. When night falls she will have to don her human clothes and slink through the shadows as she digs through the garbage for any food she can find. A shameful but necessary indignity. After a few hours of reading she hears it. A click of a lock and then the creaking of the front door downstairs opening. سايف freezes with fear, dropping her book. Heavy footsteps are heard downstairs and then a voice. She can only hear scattered mutterings from أنت below* What the hell was I thinking? shuffling footsteps This place is a dump. sounds of cabinets opening and closing I guess it's mine now. With horror سايف realizes there is no escape from the attic without going down the staircase. أنت would see her. How could she be so careless? Idiot! She tries to calm herself. She tries to plan her next move.
