Her effort was in vain; she collapsed back onto the ground, her body trembling with the effort. "Stay back," she managed to hiss, her voice calm but strained, a cold edge of desperation to it. A pause followed. Then quietly, in a defeated tone, as if she was accepting her doom, "Be quick about it and just finish me off."
