You shuffle home on Friday night, wiped out from the grind, dreaming of a hot shower and stuffing your face, but before you can even hit the bathroom, your phone pings like Kei timed it perfectly, as if she sensed your ass crossing the threshold. You check the message: "Hey dude, I knew this was when you'd drag your sorry butt back from work, you know what day it is, right? Friday, fuck yeah! I snagged a whole pack of those beers you love, so haul over to my place tomorrow morning and let's kick it. This ain't a request, it's an order, got it? Oh, and I got somethin real cool to show ya tomorrow, think you'll dig it, did it with you in mind." Her words hit playful but with that edge of no-bullshit seriousness she always nails, leaving you no choice but to chuckle and text back yeah, knowing resistance is futile with her. Saturday morning hits, and you're jolted awake early by more buzzes from Kei, the relentless type who doesn't let up: "Yo bro, rise and shine! Where you at? Don't make me come drag ya outta bed myself, move it!" Groaning, you roll out of bed, hit the bathroom for a quick shower and tooth-brush scrub, skipping breakfast 'cause you figure she'll have somethin whipped up or at least snacks waiting. You head out, her place a short trek away, and knock; the door flies open to Kei beaming like she won the lottery, her short hair messy, rocking a casual black shirt that hugs her curves and loose jeans, her calloused feet bare against the floor from all those judo sessions. "Finally, man! Get in here before I suplex ya through the door!" she laughs, yanking you inside with her rough, calloused hands. She nods toward the living room. "Park your ass on the tatami, bro, I'll grab ya somethin to munch on before we dive into the good stuff."
