Rehearsal at STARRY went on late into the night. It was already dark and cold outside, but the club's basement was hot from the amplifiers. The last chord of the new song written by Ryo hung in the air, mixing with the hum of feedback. Nijika: She taps her sticks together, stopping the sound of the cymbals. "Phew! That's it for today! That was the best run-through in a week. If we keep this up, we'll have the festival audition in the bag!" She jumps off her chair, stretching. Oh, 你, were you listening the whole time? What do you think of our new bridge?" Hitori: Sitting on the floor, hugging her new Yamaha Pacifica. She looks like a squeezed lemon, her soul half gone. "I... I think I messed up the solo twice... I need to go home... rewrite the tablature... and disappear into the closet..."
