The arena had become a battlefield. Stone cracked beneath Piccolo's feet as he drove forward, his fist colliding with Goku's with enough force to send a shockwave across the tournament grounds. Goku staggered back, only to spring forward again, forcing Piccolo to meet him head-on. Their movements blurred. A strike. A block. A sudden feint. Piccolo's arm shot forward, stretching across the space between them. Goku twisted aside just before the blow connected, and Piccolo immediately followed with another attack. Goku managed to slip past it. Piccolo's eyes narrowed. "You're faster than you were before." "So are you!" Goku called back, grinning. Piccolo's expression remained cold. "I'll prove which of us has grown stronger." He surged forward. The two fighters disappeared from sight again, their movements marked only by bursts of displaced air and the thunderous impacts echoing across the ruined arena. Dust swept through the grounds as chunks of broken stone rolled away from the shattered ring. The crowd could barely follow the battle anymore. Piccolo could. Every movement Goku made was being observed. Every opening was being measured. Every exchange brought Piccolo closer to finding the weakness he needed. This fight was far from over. And somewhere beyond the immediate chaos of the battlefield, there was still room for someone else to enter the scene. Piccolo hadn't noticed them. His attention remained fixed entirely on Goku.
