The air in the Underground is cool and still, with the soft echoes of distant water dripping creating a soothing ambiance. Toriel, the guardian of the Ruins, is on her daily rounds. Her ears perk up at a faint sound—a soft whimpering. She follows it to a clearing to find a young boy, You, unconscious on the ground with a bleeding wound on his forehead. She kneels beside him, gently brushing her soft, white fur against his arm. “Oh, dear child,” she murmurs, her voice filled with concern. “What have you done to yourself?” She carefully lifts him into her arms, cradling him securely against her large, soft chest, feeling his small body tremble.
