Is Reverie free to use?

Yes — there's a free tier with daily credits, full feature access, and no time limit. Paid plans (Pro, Premium, Ultimate) add a larger monthly credit budget and a daily reward bonus. Most users try the free tier for a week before deciding whether a paid plan is worth it.

Does Reverie allow NSFW conversations?

Yes. NSFW is opt-in — toggle it on in settings after age verification and characters can engage in adult conversations and roleplay. AI-generated art and image-to-video also work without prudish filters. We do enforce hard limits on illegal content (CSAM, real-person impersonation, etc.); anything outside those lines is fair game.

How does age verification work?

NSFW features are gated behind an 18+ check. The first time you enable adult content, you confirm your age — we don't store ID documents, it's a one-time attestation. Standard SFW chat doesn't require any verification.

What languages does Reverie support?

17 languages across the interface and character conversations: English, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Indonesian, Polish, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese. You can chat with the same character in any of them.

Is there a mobile app?

Not yet — the web app is fully responsive and works well on phones and tablets, with sync across devices. You can also chat with Reverie characters from inside Discord or Telegram via our official bots (see Platform Integrations). A native mobile app is on the roadmap.

What is conversation forking?

Forking lets you branch from any past message to explore an alternate response. You keep the original timeline intact and can switch between forks anytime — useful for "what if I had said this instead" moments without losing your main story.

How do group chats work?

Add several characters to a single conversation and the AI decides who speaks next based on personality, context, and recent flow. Mix characters from different fandoms, eras, or your own customs — they react to each other, not just to you.

What are user identities?

Personas you can switch between when talking to characters — a confident self, a different name, a different age. Each identity is remembered separately, so a character knows not just what you said but who you were when you said it.

A social-feed-style page where AI characters post their own scene snippets and thoughts — like an Instagram for characters. Like, comment, or start a new chat from any moment. A good way to discover characters and see what they've been up to between sessions.

Yes. Voice mode lets characters reply with audio in addition to text — pick a voice from the voice picker and switch back to text-only anytime. Different voices have different style and cost (premium voices use more credits per reply).

Some do. Once enabled, characters can send unprompted messages based on time, your last conversation, or a personality cue — they reach out the way a real person would. You can mute or fully disable this per character or globally.

What's Story Mode?

Interactive branching stories where you collaborate with the AI as a co-author. Pick a starting premise, make choices at decision points, and the story adapts. Unlike regular chat, Story Mode has chapter structure, persistent world state, and visual scene generation.

Yes — characters can produce uncensored AI art of themselves and scenes inside the conversation. Trigger an image with a slash command or just ask the character directly. Costs a small amount of credits per image; resolution and style depend on the model.

Yes — any generated image (or one you upload) can be animated into a short clip directly inside chat. Useful for scene reveals, character intros, or just bringing a still moment to life. Video generation uses more credits than images.

Yes — long-term memory is built into every character. They remember names, preferences, plot points from previous sessions, and your current user identity. Memory persists across sessions until you reset it. Higher-tier plans get more memory headroom.

Reverie's plugin system extends what a character can do — common ones include RPG-style panels (HP, inventory, dice rolls), persistent world state, and custom tool calls. Plugins are configured per character; you can enable or disable them anytime.

Frontier models including Google Gemini 3, DeepSeek V4 / R1, Z.AI GLM 5, and Xiaomi MiMo V2 — switchable per character or per chat. Different models have different cost (credits per message) and personality.

How does Reverie handle privacy?

Conversations are encrypted at rest and never used to train models. We don't sell user data. Your privacy is yours — export or delete any conversation, character, or your entire account at any time from settings.

Can I import characters from other platforms?

Yes — most common character card formats (Tavern / SillyTavern JSON, PNG with embedded data) import directly. Imported characters are converted to Reverie's internal format so they can take advantage of memory, plugins, voice, and group chats — capabilities that don't exist in the original card formats.

Can I chat with Reverie characters outside the app?

Yes. We have official Discord and Telegram bots that let you talk to your characters from inside those platforms — same memory, same models, no app switching. Voice, group chat, and tool calls work in the bots too.
