Credits explained

How Reverie's credit system works — what a credit is, what each model costs, and the eight ways to earn more without paying.

Reverie runs on credits. Every message you send, every image you generate, every video you make consumes credits at a rate that's visible in your ledger. We expose the actual cost so you can choose when to splurge on a premium model and when to chat for free.

Numbers move. The credit grant on signup, the daily login amount, subscription credit allotments, individual model multipliers — all of these are tuned over time as costs change and as anti-abuse signals evolve. The figures on this page are the current values; the authoritative source is always the in-app credit ledger and the model picker.

The basics

  • Welcome grant on signup — credited to your balance the moment you verify your email.
  • Daily login bonus — open the app once a day to receive credits automatically, plus streak bonuses on top.
  • Credits never expire. Whatever you earn today is still there next year.

What a message costs

For LLM chat, the formula is:

credits per message = tokens used × model credit multiplier

Tokens roughly map to words: 1,000 tokens ≈ 750 English words. A typical reply is 200-500 tokens.

The multiplier reflects what we pay our provider. We don't mark up — premium models cost more because we pay more, not because we want to push you toward them.

LLM tiers

  • Basic — usable on every account, including free. Covers everyday chat, roleplay, and most creative work.
  • Advanced — gated to active subscribers. Higher-quality replies for important scenes; the model picker shows a lock if you don't have a plan.

Within each tier, every model has its own credit multiplier set roughly in proportion to what we pay the provider. We don't mark up — premium models cost more because they cost us more.

See Supported models for the current lineup, multipliers, context lengths, and reasoning support.

Image and video

Image generation and image-to-video have per-generation pricing rather than per-token. The exact costs sit on the Supported models page. Image-to-video is gated to subscribers.

Ways to earn credits

Daily login + streak milestones

Just open the app. You get a base daily reward, and consecutive-day streaks layer on milestone bonuses — small ones early (day 3, day 7) and super-milestones at day 30 and day 100 that are substantially larger.

The actual amounts surface on the check-in screen and in the credit ledger.

Lucky draw

After your daily check-in, flip one of three cards for a bonus. The pool ranges from a small consolation to a legendary rare prize that's rare enough to feel like a real win. Odds and amounts are tuned periodically.

Referrals

Share your referral link from Settings → Referrals. When someone you referred buys credits within a window after signing up, you earn a percentage commission in credits — automatically, every time. The exact rate and window are surfaced on the referrals page.

Subscription monthly grant

Subscribers receive a fresh monthly allocation. The three plans (Pro / Premium / Ultimate) trade off price against grant size and against the boost on daily login rewards. First-time subscribers also get a one-time welcome bonus dropped directly into their balance.

See Subscriptions for the current price-and-credits matrix.

Credit packages

If you'd rather pay-as-you-go than subscribe: three one-time packs ($10 / $50 / $100) with subscriber bonuses applied automatically. Current credit-per-dollar rates are on the purchase page.

Gift cards & redeem codes

We run codes through partners, contests, and community events. Redeem them under Settings → Redeem code or at /redeem.

Create characters

Every time someone chats with one of your public characters, you earn a share of the credits they consume. Passive income that scales with your character's popularity. See Revenue streams.

Publish plugins

Plugins you publish earn a 5% commission on every credit a chat uses while your plugin is active. See Creating plugins.

Where to see your balance

  • The pill in the top right shows your current credits.
  • Settings → Billing → Credits is the full ledger: every transaction, what it cost, which model it ran on, when it landed.
  • Settings → Billing → History is the purchase history.

No auto-renewal

Reverie subscriptions never auto-renew. When your month ends, your subscription quietly stops. If you want another month, you re-subscribe consciously. We don't believe in silent charges.
