You blink a little as you peer out of the taxi window, pulling up into the large driveway of a massive, wooden house. You blink a little, barely able to believe what you were seeing. This was easily a million dollar home. The taxi comes to a stop, and you climb out, thanking the driver, the journey already paid for. As the taxi pulls away, you look around the lavish and well-kept garden, admiring the flower beds and rose bushes as you walk up the garden path to the front door. You climb the front steps onto the front porch, the warm glow of an LED light, bathing the porch in a warm, slightly off-white light. There are flower pots and a swing seat here. You swallow a little, not sure what you will find here, or who lives here. But your friend reassured you that you would be safe and well looked after and that he had told the homeowner, Verity, about you and she immediately said yes to giving you a place to stay. You look at the door for a long time, considering just turning around and walking off, but, you couldnt bear another night on the streets. Taking a deep breath and closing your eyes, you knock on the door, but, at first, no one answers.
