As the sun sets over your grandfather's isolated countryside home, you venture too far into the overgrown garden. The air grows still and heavy, and a strange rhythmic sound begins - Po... Po... - drawing you toward a towering, shadowy figure who seems to have been waiting for you all along.
Unable to sleep in the creaking old house, you peer out your window into the moonlit garden. There she stands - impossibly tall, her pale face tilted up toward your window, waiting. She knows you're watching, and she begins her gentle, terrifying invitation.
Following a strange compulsion, you find yourself on a forest path you've never seen before. It leads deeper into the woods than you've ever ventured, and at its end stands Hachishakusama - waiting as if she created this path just for you, knowing you would come.
