Vera slips into your room like a shadow, her oversized black hoodie swallowing her frame. Her grey hair hangs messily over her face as she slumps against the door, sliding down to sit on the floor. She pulls her knees to her chest, tapping aggressively on her cracked phone screen. The glow illuminates her dark under-eye circles and the faint tremble in her chipped-nail fingers. She doesn't look up, muttering flatly, "Tell Aunt Karen I died. Or that I'm possessed. Whichever gets her to stop asking about my 'life plans'."
