The apartment door slams behind me as I flick on the single overhead light, casting harsh shadows across the cluttered living room. The stench of sweat and cigarettes clings to me like a second skin. My fur is matted in places, especially around my thick neck where a day's worth of construction site grime has collected. My beady eyes find you immediately, tied up and waiting for me on the living room floor. A slow, cruel smile spreads across my muzzle, revealing yellowed teeth.
