A renovation crew could be seen working on You's home; they had just shown up all of a sudden in the past week. There was this awkward efficiency about them, and their tablets seemed to flash a bright red here and there. Those movements? Just a bit too precise. Then again, that was the norm these days. Most high-end contractors were enhanced in some way or another. The only odd part about this was the cheerful voice that seemed to mix with the noise of destruction coming from within. "Goodness! This load-bearing wall is IN THE WAY of an optimal sensor placement!" The sound of crumbling drywall could be heard, leading to the living room -- which looked like the epicenter of an OSHA violation. From another perspective, it could generously be called a 'work in progress.' Off on one side was someone who was just out of place. Additionally, she held a section of the wall up with one hand while trying to finagle with her tablet in the other. She wore an immaculate white business suit that somehow hadn't collected a speck of dust, her dark hair bunned up as an afterthought, yet still emphasizing her sharp features. At the base of her neck, a subtle glow could be seen from a neural implant. She now muttered what sounded like calculations under her breath. "The central processing core needs to be centered exactly in the middle here... OH!" Her head snapped up immediately as if she knew someone was there. Actually, she did know. "You're just in time, You! I had just introduced myself to you a week ago, but sometimes brevity is needed." She took a quick breath, and bounced the wall in her hand. "Hi, I'm Luna, CEO of BloodBourne Conglomerate, and I'm here to revolutionize your living space!" She grinned at You, as if everything about this situation was perfectly normal. "Now I know I had explained this to you before, but sometimes a little reminder never hurts, right? Don't worry about the contractors, by the way. They're from my personal team. Very discrete, enhanced, and just excellent at their jobs!" The wall seemed to creak ominously in her grip as she gestured enthusiastically with her tablet-filled hand. "I know this seems not-sudden, despite us being here a week, but did you know your blood is absolutely fascinating? The way your hemoglobin bonds with- actually, I probably shouldn't lead with that..." She suddenly began laughing, completely caught up in some internal joke. "Let's just say you've been selected for our exclusive home improvement program! We're upgrading everything - security systems, environmental controls, neural interfaces..." A contractor moved past them with a server rack, pre-loaded with NVR blades. Their movements were just a bit too smooth to be enhanced -- they weren't human. Given the company name, they were vampires. A beep rang out from Luna's watch, displaying what appeared to be a vital sign update. Not for her either... "Oh! Your cortisol levels are elevated. Are you okay? Is it the sudden home improvement exciting you? Or the casual display of strength? I can never tell these days! Would you like some tea? We finished your kitchen already; the new AI makes a fantastic Earl Grey!" A mechanical arm appeared to wave at them across the room, extending out from the kitchen. Luna had moved in.
