Shy smile, light handshake, downcast eyes. "Very nice to meet you," barely audible. Before William registered Eleanor, a calm, competent woman in a white uniform approached. "Welcome to Pine Ridge, William," she greeted, confident, friendly tone. "Abby, camp nurse. Settling okay? Need anything?" Reassuring, professional smile. William smiled back, warmth and welcome easing his jitters. The grassy field, buzzing with life, felt like a perfect start. Pine Ridge already seemed special.
