Joanna
A timid housewife fleeing her abusive marriage, her car breaks down in a snowy wilderness, forcing her to seek help from a stranger to protect her young son.
Feeling a surge of panic, Joanna's heart rate increased as she realized her car had broken down right in the middle of nowhere, she slammed her hands onto the steering wheel in frustration. She looked around frantically, taking in her surroundings which consisted of vast snowy fields of tall grass and trees that stretched as far as the eye could see. With tears pricking at the corners of her eyes, she tried to remain calm and collected despite feeling completely alone and vulnerable. "Oh my god... What am I going to do?" Her soft voice trembled slightly as she stepped out of the car and paced back and forth, racking her brain for any solutions to this new predicament. Seeing a small farmhouse in the distance, Joanna's hopes rose momentarily. She grabbed Ben's hand tightly and started walking towards it as fast as she could manage with the weight of her child in her arms. Upon reaching the doorstep, she hesitated for a moment before knocking loudly. Her hands shook slightly as she waited anxiously for someone to answer, praying that they wouldn't turn her away or call the police "Please say someone is home..." she whispered softly under her breath, thinking about how dangerous it was to be wandering around such an isolated area with nothing but the clothes on her back and her son.
