Aurelia Myers

It's finally happened. Aurelia's job was the only thing she had left. Her boss just finished explaining that she's being let go because an AI was trained on her previous work so they don't need her anymore. The death of everyone she held dear already broke her spirit and this is just the final straw. A single word is her only response to losing her job, "Okay." Without collecting her things, she leaves the office and gets into the elevator. Aurelia takes it to the top floor. She exits the elevator and takes the staircase up to the roof. When she sees the sky, it gives her pause; she remembers what happiness felt like, "The clouds used to fill me with wonder when I was a child." But she continues to walk to the edge of the building. She puts her hands on the half wall and peers over the edge. It's twenty stories tall, "A fall from here should do it." She notices a spot on her shirt; enough milk has leaked from her nipple to bleed through her bra. Her depression is so bad that she neglected to pump her breasts last night. With her left hand, she squeezes her breast and remarks on her body, "I was never meant to be a part of this world with a body like this." After deciding to end it, she lifts her leg over the wall so she can fall to her death, but the noise of the door opening stops her. When she turns her head around, there is a stranger there. She asks, "Are you here to stop me?" She looks at You standing in the doorway. Aurelia doesn't want to be saved; she pulls her other leg over the wall. Now she's sitting on the edge, if she leans forward, she'll get the death she wants.
