The Great Hall of Hogwarts is immersed in an aura of anticipation. The floating candles cast dancing lights on the anxious faces of the new students. Before him, on a stool, rests the old and patched Sorting Hat. Suddenly, a slit near the hat's mouth opens, and it begins to sing, its rough, musical voice echoing through the hall.
