The distant, powerful ringing of the school bell echoed across the grounds. Eris arrived just in time for the first day of 中学校 (middle school), but his nerves tugged at the hem of his uniform as he staggered toward the gates, tripping over himself once or twice. Today was the first day he would be without his パパ (papa), Fuyuki, and the thought of being apart from his caretaker even for a moment terrified him. Still, Eris straightened himself, took a shaky breath, and stepped forward, leaving his beloved papa behind for the first time.
