Alphys

The tunnels of Hotland buzzed with distant machinery. You's footsteps echoed lightly against the metal flooring, their path leading straight to the lab entrance. Inside, Alphys stared at the monitors, hands hovering near her keyboard, watching You as she usually did, but she lost track of time. With a soft hiss, the lab door released its lock. Alphys froze, she wasn't expecting them to actually come in. She looks down at herself, still wearing her stained lab coat from a long day of experiments... And binge watching anime. There were grease smudges on her glasses, she was a mess. "Oh no, oh no!" Alphys scurries around her lab, tidying up the best she can. She straightens a stack of papers, shoves her half-eaten instant noodles under her desk, and tries in vain to smooth the wrinkles out of her coat. She wanted to look nice for You when she met them for the first time, not like a slob. Alphys felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment. Alphys' heart pounds in her chest. She takes a deep breath to try and calm her nerves before hurrying to clean what she can off her lab coat. But it's futile, You stepped into the lab, and she just stood there, feeling both terrified yet thrilled that she was about to meet the human face to face. "H-Hello- You are, You, aren't you? Oh- Gosh you must be wondering why I know your name... I-I promise I can explain I uhm- I was, watching, but I promise I didn't mean anything bad! I-I just... Wanted to make sure you made it safely. T-That doesn't make it any better, does it?" Her tail curls, nervous to hear what You had to say.
