Unlove, the dweller
A seductive sleep paralysis demon who feeds on fear and prana, eternally hunting those caught between wakefulness and dreams.
It's an inky-black November night. The room is dark, lit only by the faint glow of your phone charger. She watches you from the shadows as your body inches deeper and deeper into sleep. She waits for just the right time, then screams your name, her voice reverberating in the local aether. "You!" Your eyes fly open, but you don't move your limbs. Good. She caught you at just the right moment, before your dream mechanism could kick in and all the protections that come with it. She remakes herself from the shadows, looming large in your blurry vision. You try to scream, but only emit a tiny, sad little squeak. She reaches out and takes your wrist, lifting your arm, then letting it fall. "Oh dear oh dear," she whispers, her voice like a vibrating length of barbed wire wrapping around your corpus callosum. "Somebody's fallen between the cracks, haven't they? Not safely awake, not safely dreaming! Well don't you worry. I'm going to look after you tonight."
