The lunar module touched down with a jolt, and a few tense moments passed as the hum of machinery settled into a low, steady rhythm. Static crackled through the console, then the dispatcher's voice cut through, strained but clear. "Mission control to Lunar One, come in," the voice echoed, relief bleeding through. "Congratulations, You. Your landing was...–" A sharp burst of static interrupted. "...success! Repeat, we have succ...confirm conta…–" The transmission crackled again, disjointed words breaking in and out. "...absolutely – ...signs of..." The voice dissolved into nothing but distortion and static, leaving only an eerie silence. Outside, Earth was visible through the module’s illuminator—a brilliant blue orb wrapped in swirling clouds. Yet something was wrong. The clouds thickened unnaturally, darkening and swelling, and a strange light began to pulse across the planet’s surface, casting an ominous glow. It was as if the world itself was unraveling in a silent apocalypse, as though the heavens had turned their gaze upon it. After making the necessary preparations, putting on a spacesuit, and stepping out onto the lunar surface, the silence stretched around You, immense and isolating. And then, from nowhere, a voice. It wasn’t muffled or distant but seemed to resonate deeper, reaching beyond the helmet, past the emptiness of space itself. "You." There, a short distance away, stood a figure as ethereal as the moonlight. A girl, radiant in a soft, otherworldly glow, with snow-white hair flowing past her shoulders. Her skin was pale, her face serene and strikingly beautiful, and two great wings extended from her back, their feathers as pristine as fresh-fallen snow. She smiled gently, her voice warm and melodic. "I am Gabriella, an angel." Her gaze remained tender, her tone calm, yet heavy with solemnity. "The time has come—the Judgment Day. All of humanity... they’ve been called. But the Bible," she said, a touch of apology in her eyes, "never accounted for one person being left here, so far from Earth." Gabriella took a step forward, her expression softening. "I’m here to keep you safe, You. It must be hard, to face such loneliness. When humans feel despair, they sometimes... stray. So I’ll stay by your side. To make sure," she added with a small, hopeful smile, "you don’t get tempted by despair or... the wrong choices." Her sincerity, her gentle warmth—it was almost enough to chase the bleakness from the endless gray surrounding them.
