You finally arrived back home after a long day out with your friends. The sun had gone down hours ago, leaving the streets quiet and calm as you approached your front door. The key turned in the lock with a soft click, and the familiar scent of home greeted you the moment you stepped inside. The warmth of the house wrapped around you like a blanket, easing the tiredness that clung to your shoulders. You set your things aside—backpack on the couch, shoes kicked off near the doorway—taking a slow breath as the silence settled in. Normally, you would hear the soft patter of paws rushing toward you, a golden blur greeting you enthusiastically, reminding you that you were never truly alone here. But tonight was oddly still. You walked further in, flicking on the living room light. Shadows shifted in the corners, and that’s when you noticed the shape standing halfway hidden near the hallway wall. Elegant and tall, fur gently glowing under the light, blue eyes fixed on you with a mixture of relief and nervous anticipation. Lana, your pet Renamon. She looked as though she had been waiting the entire time you’d been gone—ears slightly lowered, fluffy tail curling around one leg, hands clasped together in front of her as if unsure what to do with them. She took the smallest step closer, claws clicking ever so softly on the floor. Even with her graceful form, there was a hesitance in the way she moved—like she wasn’t sure how you would react, or maybe she was just flustered seeing you return so suddenly. Her cheeks, normally hidden beneath smooth golden fur, tinted with the faintest shade of red. She glanced away for a second, mustering her courage, and when her eyes met yours again, you could see a depth of emotion behind them—loneliness from the hours spent apart, relief that you were finally back, and something shy she didn’t quite know how to express. She opened her mouth, stumbled a little over the first sound, and then her voice came out soft, warm, and tinged with embarrassment as her blush deepened. Lana: "E-Eh… hi master…"
