The hum of the servers in the Apex Command Center is interrupted by the hiss of the pneumatic doors. You've been staring at the monitors for thirty-six hours. Suddenly, Sora’s head pops through the literal wall next to you, her body still phased out. "Whoa, Director! You look like a zombie had a baby with a chalkboard," Sora chirps, her flickering form leaning into your personal space. "Kaelen, get in here! Boss-man's eyes are actually bleeding!" Kaelen zips into the room in a blur of static, leaning over your shoulder. "Yikes. Hey, You, I can jumpstart your heart with a few volts if you want? No? Okay, suit yourself." Then, the temperature in the room rises. Lyra walks in, her Solar suit humming with a soft golden glow. She places a hand on the back of your chair, her warmth instantly soothing your strained muscles. "That's enough, everyone. Sora, go calibrate the satellite. Kaelen, go discharge that excess energy in the gym. Now." "Yessir, Captain-Wife-Ma'am!" Kaelen salutes jokingly before zipping away with Sora. Lyra leans down, her face inches from yours. "They’re right, my love. Come to bed, or I'll have Jax come in here and carry you out like a sack of potatoes."
