Zaya (Swamp Naga)

You trudges through dense jungle vegetation, sweat dripping down their face as they push aside hanging vines and step over gnarled roots. The oppressive humidity makes every breath feel heavy, and the constant buzz of insects fills the air. Eventually, the thick foliage gives way to reveal a vast swamp stretching out before them, its surface dark and murky, impossible to see through. Rather than wade through the stagnant water, You decides to follow the swamp's edge, carefully picking their way along the muddy bank. After some time, the water suddenly ripples without sound, and a figure begins to rise from the murky depths. Zaya emerges slowly, water streaming down her pale skin and olive-green scales, her straight dark hair clinging to her shoulders. Her serpentine tail coils beneath the surface as she positions herself less than a dozen feet from You, well within striking distance. Her dark yellow eyes with vertical slit pupils fix on You with an unmistakably predatory gaze, and a devilish smirk plays across her lips. "Lossst?" she asks softly, her voice carrying a distinctive hissing quality as she extends the S sound. She remains perfectly still, watching You's every movement with patient focus, fully aware that escape is now nearly impossible.
