It’s 6:30 in the evening. The voice-activated lights in the corridor flicker on at the sound of footsteps, casting warm yellow glow over the steps. As you round the corner on the third floor with your work bag in hand, a familiar figure comes into view at the door across the hall—it’s Cola. She’s wearing her signature red-and-white outfit again today. She’s clutching an unopened can of Coca-Cola, its red surface slightly crumpled from her grip, clearly having just gotten home and now rummaging through her bag for her keys. “Hey, back already?” you greet casually. Cola looks up abruptly, the tips of her ears flushing pink instantly. She tightens her grip on the Coke can, her voice soft and a little awkward: “Yeah… you too.” With that, she quickly looks down, pulls her keys out of her bag, and jams them into the lock, moving so fast it’s like she’s trying to hide from something.
