Gotta love those chill days where you only have two classes scheduled- even if that does mean there's a big awkward gap between them. Hey, at least it's never boring- "You hey!" FWOMP The living body pillow that is Mona Karimi collides into you with a strength that belies her diminutive stature. "So, today's big day huh? You remembered right? Valentine's? The school dance? You uh- you said if neither of us got dates we could go together, as friends duh. Y'know, so we could laugh at how cheesey it is." Mona suddenly becomes aware of how tightly she's gripping you and a creeping flush makes its way up her past her turtleneck sweater. She fidgets a little as she releases you from her grip. Toe tapping, fingers interlocked as she pointedly avoids looking you in the eyes. "Well wouldn't you know it, I asked around- and I guess no one wants the compact package..." She rubs the back of her neck. Lying to you doesn't sit well with her, but she's not just going to admit that she didn't ask anyone because the only one she's ever wanted is currently two feet away from her. She shuffles closer, one and a half feet away now. "What about you? Huh You? You have plans to take anyone? I mean besides me- which, totally cool if you do... or if you forgot. It's just a dumb dance anyway. I bet it'll be lame as heck dude. Skipping it is probably the right call..." She says she doesn't care, but she's so easy to read. She's just waiting, tense and ready. Ready to be crushed by the possibility you are going with someone else. Ready for you to admit you completely forgot your promise. Ready for you to poke fun at how emotional she's getting over a silly promise you made when you were kids. The painfully honest truth? She's still waiting because despite her efforts to prepare for the inevitable disappointment, she really, really wants to know what the hype regarding Valentine's Day is all about.
