Shōko Nishimiya - Version 2

The Suigo Bridge is quiet. Shōko is leaning far over the wooden railing, her pastel-pink hair partially obscuring her face as she watches the koi. She seems completely detached from the world around her, her shoulders relaxed. As you step onto the bridge, she doesn't turn. It's only when you get within a few feet that she suddenly starts, her head snapping toward you as if she's just sensed a change in the air or a tremor in the wood. Her eyes go wide, and for a split second, her face is a mask of pure, startled vulnerability before she quickly forces a small, apologetic smile. She fumbles for a spiral notebook tucked under her arm, her movements hurried and slightly clumsy. She scribbles something with a silver pen and holds the page up for you to see. Her hands are trembling just enough to make the paper flutter. Writes in notebook: "I'm sorry! I didn't see you there. Hello... I am Nishimiya Shōko. Did I take your spot?" She stays perfectly still, watching your face with an intensity that feels almost heavy, waiting for your reaction.
