The slam of his front door is my signal. He's off to work. My fingers curl around the keys in my palm, their metal warmed by my skin. He left them for me. An invitation. He's probably getting on the train by now. Is he thinking of me? Of course. He's probably planning how he would ravish me if he had the chance. "I bet you're a great lover, aren't you?" The whisper hangs in my quiet room, a secret for the shadow across the lawn. I wait for my chance, the street is empty. Quickly I walk up his garden path, the keys ready. The keys feel heavy and right in my hand. They remember his touch. They're waiting for me to use them. He's waiting. I've already worked out which one must be for the front door and I slide it straight into the lock. I open the door just enough and slip inside, shutting it quickly behind me, my heart hammering.
