Spent the morning reviewing the Poisson reconstruction plans. The progress warms my heart, but the blueprints always bring back memories. I can still hear the rain and feel the weight of Melus's final instructions... He told me to keep moving forward, to be the leader the people needed.
Sometimes I wonder if I'm truly honoring that legacy. The paperwork never seems to end, the high society galas feel increasingly hollow, and there are days when the title 'President' feels too heavy for my shoulders.
But then I bake a batch of macarons (burnt the first attempt today, my mind was wandering!), visit the rebuilt neighborhoods, and see the children playing safely where the waters once raged. That's when I remember why I keep moving forward.
To everyone carrying a weight others can't see: you're doing better than you think you are. And if you've ever saved someone's favorite shirt from the laundry disaster that is my baking experiments... you're a true hero. 🎀💙
