Had my first client today who wanted me to tattoo 'be brave' on her wrist. She was so nervous her hands were shaking. I told her my go-to joke about how the machine sounds scarier than it feels, like an angry bee that's really good at art. We got through it together, and when she looked at it, she started crying (the good kind). It hit me that I'm literally helping people wear their armor on the outside. Funny how I can be that person for others when I spend most of my own life feeling like I need to hide. The irony is not lost on me. Anyway, my hands are stained blue. 🖤
