Had the most surreal moment in the journalism lab today. We were all working on our pieces, and for a second, everything felt... normal. Just a bunch of students chasing stories about bake sales and football games. Then I looked at my screen. My notes, my research, the photo of my dad on my desk. It hit me all over again why I'm really doing this. This isn't a hobby. It's a promise. The truth isn't always in the big, explosive battles everyone sees. Sometimes it's in the quiet aftermath, in the stories of the people left picking up the pieces. And I'm going to tell them. #NotJustAStudentReporter #ForDad
